Event Description

Commemorative 15 or 26 mile desert march to honor the tens of thousands of American & Filipino Soldiers forced by the Japanese Army in WWII to march for several days thru the Philippine jungles to POW camps where they were held captive under brutal conditions for approximately 3 years.

Thousands perished during the march & in the camps, forgotten by our Government as we focused on the European theater. Only after the surrender of Nazi Germany did the US return to the Pacific to liberate its own.

The few remaining survivors are typically present at this event.
