Greetings,

Our project is Empowering our American Veterans through Art workshop. We are positive you have touched many lives by serving our Country. Now it is our time to support  and “Thank you.” After fighting for our freedom, Veterans come home and are suffering PTSD. These workshops help them work through their trauma.

To date, we have raised 10% of our goal. We have partnered with the GlobalGiving Foundation to participate in its Open Challenge, a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations working around the world.

In order to succeed in GlobalGiving’s Open Challenge, the Charles Allis Art Museum must raise $4,000 from 50 donors by December 22, 2010.

Please help us reach the threshold of $4,000 from 50 donors! Be one of the first people to make a donation at http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/empowering-our-american-veterans-through-art/  Not only will your donation help the Veterans Art program at the Charles Allis but, it will help us take advantage of a long-term fundraising opportunity!

We’re also going to need your help spreading the word!

Warm Regards,

Patty Redeker

Im a volunteer for PVA (Paralyzed Vets). They meet frequently throughout Chicago area, but usually at Hines because the Spinal Cord Injury Center is there (also the specialty Blindness Center as well). And Loyola Medical Center/Trauma Center that was moved by govt to the Hines campus has a Burn Unit. Its doctors care for Hines patients/they share facilities, including a specialty Psychiatric Center.

Hines also has a VA Residential Center on its campus for devastating illness or injury that can no longer live independently. The campus is huge with an adjacent forest at one end. IT MAY HAVE A LOCATION ON IT FOR A DRYHOOTCH, many historic buildings large and small, may not all be occupied or full. Or may be room to build (like the new Fischer House). It has a Farmers Market in the Summer.
