This photo was taken on Veterans' Day 2008. It is my uncle Kenneth Pattow who served in the Signal Corps in WWII. He turned 90 last June. He has been a rock in my life.

I am currently married to Tom, a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. Tom served in the Infantry, 1st Air Cavalry. Our 36th wedding anniversary is tomorrow. Though it took us, as a country, decades to get it right for the Vietnam Veterans, we have grown and learned a lot.

I am so grateful for places like Dryhootch and Guitars for Vets - individuals who join together to help heal the hearts of these brave men and women.
