For those who may not know me, my name is Becky and I am going to UWM for Occupational Therapy. My professor got me intersted in working with veterans and current service members so I love being around Dryhootch. It's a wonderful organization and the people are great! For my masters program I am doing a thesis on the transition process from the military to civilian life. I have been researching about this process since this summer but the best information is from the men and women who experienced it so as a way to hear their voices I will be conducting focus groups or group interviews. Dryhootch has been wonderful enough to offer me a time slot at the Warrior Summit during the breakout session from 12:30 to 1:30 so if you're interested I would love to hear from you or see you at the session! However, there is criteria to attend. For my thesis, I am looking for OEF/OIF/OND veterans or service members who have been deployed at least once and are between the ages of 18 and 35. I attached a flyer with more information as well as my contact information. This is a great opportunity to share your experiences in order to help future veterans make the transition back to civilian life more smoothly. The data I collect will be used to develop a lifeskills program for veterans during the transition process. I am so grateful to have such wonderful men and women risk their lives for our country so I want to be able to reach out and help in any way I can! God bless!
