This is a tribute to my son and hero, Nathan, who suffers from PTSD. He gave 8 years of his life to his country, two of which were spent in Iraq. Nathan is currrently incarcerated for having a normal stress reaction to an unfortunate event in his life. The state of Florida wants him to spend more than 20 years in jail.He has yet to be tried. Nathan has been out of the Army for 1 1/2 years now attempted suicide, and was receiving treatment for his PTSD until he was arrested. Now he sits in jail with no treatment and suffers from nightmares, depression, and feels that his country has abandoned him him. I have to agree with him. Because of a lack of good treatment, there are stories like Nathan's being played out everywhere in this country. Our wounded warriors are either killing themselves or are spening their lives in jail. Something simply has to be done.
